When evaluating new features we evaluate the benefit of the proposed feature vs. the effort required to implement it. In this case the effort far outweigh the benefit.
May I suggest using "digit first" entry mode as an alternative.

Do you mean your phone registration with the Google account or the game registration for uploading results?

You won't need to buy it again. You should be able to download it again for free as long as you are using the same Google account you used to purchase it.

Couldn't agree more. (they could also inadvertently punish those that have legitimate reasons for pausing a game, like taking a call, people still do that, don't they? )

How about just having two phones in a family? (I know, shocking). One could solve a competition on one of them, then enter the solution into another without ever having to pause the second one.
Another option would be to use Google Googles on one to take snapshot of another and have it solved for you.
I'd say the ways to cheat are many. Too many to be able to counteract effectively, but I'd also say that those that cheat are in a minority small enough to ignore. (So, no, I don't think cheating taints the legitimate results.)
Additionally, I'll say that a lot of people would write off results they find impossible as cheating just to feel better about themselves. To illustrate: as an admin I get a lot of emails from people claiming that the puzzles are incorrect / unsolvable, etc. only to review the screenshots they sent and to find an error in their logic or to point out the next logical move. It is much easier for one to blame another for cheating or to blame a puzzle for being incorrect than to admit to oneself that someone else may be better or that he may not be able to solve a puzzle of certain difficulty.

You need to long press the "Recent apps" button. That is, press and hold it until the menu comes up.

This setting doesn't cause automatic system wide backup / restore. It is the setting that is system wide, i.e. allowing all the installed apps to participate in the backup / restore. So, just enable it on both the old and new devices, then run the app on the old device. Then install the app on the new device it should automatically restore the settings previously backed up.

The menu on Galaxy S5 is accessed by long pressing the "Recent Apps" soft button to the left of the home button. Regards.

To create / change your credentials go Settings and at the bottom enter the Email and the Password you wish to use.
As a side note, making a guess goes against the very essence of Sudoku, which is why we decided against "bookmarking" feature. However, we are considering it for inclusion in a future release. Stay tuned.
