How does one use auto fill,I cannot find it

Under Settings there is an option for "Auto Pencil". If you don't see it, you may not be running the latest version of the app.

I'm new to android and Suduko but love it. However I don't know what "auto-fill" means and there are other things that I thing mught be helpful if I knew. Are there more detailed instructions for how "your" game is played with suggestions other then just the high level of how to play?
